Another Vettel Victory for Ferrari and the Easter Bunny

Driver standings have been very close so far, with Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton each winning a GP this season. In Bahrain, Vettel secured another first place finish and gained some championship-points distance from Hamilton. Vettel now has 68 points as the season leader, followed by Hamilton’s 61.

Vettel got a nice start off the line. He pitted early and then was jumped toward the front after a safety car deployment when Carlos Sainz and Lance Stroll had a run-in. Hamilton was so slow entering the pits that he got a five-second penalty for holding up Daniel Ricciardo.

Vettel came into the pits again on lap 33, putting Hamilton in the lead. When Hamilton had to pit on lap 41, he did his five-second penalty and wouldn’t be able to get in front of Vettel again. He came in second, with his Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas in third. Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen placed fourth.

With 102 points, Ferrari leads the constructor standings. Mercedes is behind by just three points, and we expect to see more excitement this year from these top contenders.
